Vera is a very sweet girl looking for her forever home.  Very is 7 years old, 12 pounds and in great health.  It appears that Vera's elderly owner never took her outside to enjoy nature, so we are working with her to familiarize her with the great outdoors and everything it has to offer.  She does, however, love to ride in a car.  Vera is wee pad trained, great with other dogs and shows no interest in cats.    She is fascinated with the birds, squirrels etc and quietly watches them from her perch on the couch.  This very sweet girl, loves to lay beside you on the couch, and will follow you from room to room. 

Vera has what is known as "parrot mouth" which makes some think she is a mix, but we were told and believe she is not a mix.    F ormally known as mandibular brachygnathism, "parrot mouth" in a dog results in an overbite, whereby the upper jaw protrudes above the lower jaw, resembling a parrot's beak. Also known as malocclusion, an overbite is usually hereditary, based on the genetic growth rates of the jaws. With parrot mouth, the lower jaw doesn't grow as long as the upper jaw. Veras' parrot mouth does not affect her chewing or in any other way, as far as we can tell,  it just makes her cuter :)
